Ayurvedic Health Practitioner

700 HOURS (INCLUDE LEVEL 1 & 2 OF 1200 HOURS = 1900 TOTAL HOURS)

This program is entirely academic and is the prerequisite for our Ayurvedic Health Practitioner (AHP) Internship Part 2 program in preventative medicine and clinical Ayurvedic medicine, leading to a certificate as an Ayurvedic Health Practitioner (AHP).

Those who complete the Ayurvedic Health Practitioner (AHP) Part 1 program will receive a certificate of completion and are eligible to enroll in the Ayurvedic Health Practitioner (AHP) Internship Part 2. Successful completion of part 1 and 2 of AHP will lead to a certificate as an Ayurvedic Health Practitioner (AHP).

CURRICULUM

Students will study the classical and modern interpretations of the management of each system of the body and related diseases from an Ayurvedic perspective. Students preform projects and work with case studies as part of the learning experience. The program integrates extensive additional study of herbal medicine with practice designing herbal formulations.

This program includes modules in:

  • Clinical Theory
  • Pancha Karma Theory
  • Diseases and Ayurvedic Management of the Digestive System
  • Diseases and Ayurvedic Management of the Respiratory System
  • Diseases and Ayurvedic Management of the Urinary System
  • Diseases and Ayurvedic Management of the Cardiovascular System
  • Women’s Health and Ayurveda
  • Diseases and Ayurvedic Management of the Nervous System
  • Chronic Diseases of and Ayurvedic Management of Endocrine, Immune, and Musculoskeletal Systems
  • Ayurvedic Dermatology
  • Ayurvedic Ears, Eyes, Nose and Throat

PREREQUISITES

Students must complete the Ayurvedic Health Counselor (AHC) program and have completed a college level Anatomy and Physiology course.

FORMAT

Ayurvedic Health Practitioner (AHP) Part 1 is an 11-month long program and will meet one weekend a month for 11 months on Saturdays and Sundays from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm.
